Prepping for your own wedding

Just a quick warning for anyone who hasn't gotten married or engaged yet: no matter how easygoing your fiance and respective families are, decision-making for a wedding can be extremely difficult, so I guess the best thing to do is expect that it will be difficult and just deal with it.

Heather and I are getting married in about 13 months, and we're already getting pressure as to how the wedding and reception should be set up. We would like to take care of most of the entertainment ourselves, while some family members would like to hire a music/entertainment group. Obviously, everyone wants the same thing--an enjoyable, memorable day--and that's really important to remember, that everyone has the same goal in mind.

I am really fortunate that Heather is so accomodating when it comes to this kind of stuff, and we are both very grateful that we even have options as to the when, where, how, and how-much of the event.

But seriously, I just want a dunk tank in the reception hall.
