Are Avocados Supposed to be Brown?

There’s this mini-mart/sandwich place in our building that I go to sometimes for lunch when I’m feeling uncreative. Here at work, we affectionately call it “The Hidden Deli”, because it’s kinda hard to find unless you are looking for it. There are three things I like about their sandwiches: 1) BIG portions, 2) Dutch crunch bread, and 3) I can read their magazines while I wait. So it’s like a meal and entertainment for 5 bucks. Can’t argue with that in Soma.I’ll make a long story short: here’s what it took for me to give up the Hidden Deli forever, as of today’s “Vege Special”:

1) My stomach hurt the first 10 times I ate there.
2) Yesterday, my co-worker Maggie got a bag of goldfish that expired on July 16th. Of 2005. They were absolutely disgusting (I still have the taste in my mouth). When we went back to return the bag, the owner was not particularly surprised.
3) The following internal question: if food is spoiled IN FRONT of the counter, what is its state BEHIND the counter? Hmm…

And I’ll throw a fourth one at ya: after my sandwich today, my stomach was not a happy camper. Hidden Deli, I hardly knew ye.

Man, that cat looks delicious.
